E-mail Server Side Products

The following software products assume a UNIX or a Linux OS environment. They were written in Perl which relies heavily on OS calls and probably would not run on other platforms. (Additionally, they are meant to be run as servers, and in most cases, concurrent servers.)

  • A Web Page E-mail File Server
  • An Auto-Responder/messenger System
  • An E-Mail Databasing System

That said, there is no reason why a small to medium-sized business, or company, cannot consider adding a dedicated, stand-alone, e-mail file server to their IT operation.

The advantages far outweigh the costs. Placing a file server between you and the "outside world" can significantly improve your ability to:

  1. Deter spam
  2. Filter incoming mail more carefully, (i.e., virus detection, Trojan Horses, etc.)
  3. Sort mail locally into "From" mail boxes
  4. Instantly update local databases via e-mail
  5. Respond automatically to appropriate and predetermined business contacts
  6. Contact secondary e-mail or re-direct addresses, i.e., cell phones or pagers
  7. Customize outgoing mail with your own business web page letter heads

If you don't see anything you like below, we can custom design and "spec" nearly any e-mail related function into your current business configuration, tying it to your website or even your local legacy databases.

Note:

Frequently technical terms are bandied about with disasterous results! I have put together a glossary of terms which may prove helpful. Any term, word, or phrase underlined in "green" signifies a link to an entry in the glossary table for the item in question. I hope you find this useful...

For your convenience, here is the beginning of, and introduction to, the The Glossary page.
